Laurel Wins Division 4 State Championship 60-58

Dayton

Tristan Williams hit 2 free throws with 4.2 seconds remaining in the game, to give the Laural Gators a 60-58 victory over the defending state champion Bellevue Lady Red.

Jordyn Meyer led the Gators with 26 points  hitting 6 3 pointers and was 10 of 15 from the floor. Tristan Williams finished with 19 points and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line.

Freshman Ava Jakubcin-Theis led Bellevue with 20 points and 8 rebounds followed by Carrington Savage had 15 points and Kaitlyn Turinsky added a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Laurel finishes the season at 22-4 while Bellevue has the 45 game winning streak end at 45 in a row and finishes with at 29-1

St. Henry Comes From Behind To Down Harvest Prep

Freshman Karley Baumer scored 7 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead the St. Henry Redskins to a 55-51 come from behind win over the Canal Winchester Harvest Prep Warriors.

Senior forward Karlee Buscher led the Redskins with 15 points  followed by Addy Homan with 13 and  Karlee Baumer with a double double 11 points and 14 rebounds and Olivia Gast with 10 points

Harvest Prep was led by Janay Carter with 15 points and Jordyn Johnson with 13 followed by a double doubld double by Ja’Naniya Lawson, 10 points and 12 boards.

Harvest Prep led most of the way until there was just over 4 minutes left in regulation when the Redskins went on a 16-3 run to close out the game.

St. Henry will be heading to the finals for the first time in the history of girls basketball.

Chaminade Julienne Heading To State Finals

  Ja’Kyiah Cook scored 16 points, Mychael Hanson and Maggie Bush each had 15 as the Chaminade Julienne Eagles defeat the Copley Indians 62-57 to advance to the Division 3 State Finals tomorrow at 3:45 at the UD arena vs St.Vincent-St.Mary.
Cook put up a shot in the lane that gave the Eagles the lead 58-57 with 15 seconds left to give the Eagles the lead for good.

  Evelyn McKnight led the Indians with 24 points while Zoey Van Voorhis was lights out from 3 point range, she had 21.

The last time the Eagles were in the finals was back in 2005 when the beat Mount Notre Dame 49-38.
CJ has won the state title 3 times, 2005, 2003 and 1999.

Chaminade Julienne improves to 23-4 while Copley ends their season at 21-6.
