Cincinnati Ohio – The Bengals have made a couple of roster moves this afternoon, in addition to the one made earlier today.

They released rookie FB Marc Weisman of Iowa under the Waived/Injured category. If Weisman clears waivers tomorrow, he’ll revert to the Bengals’ Reserve/injured list for 2015.

The Bengals also released WR Tevin Reese, a first year player from Baylor.

These additional moves leave the Bengals with 78 players on the roster. The roster must be further reduced, to 75, by 4pm  tomorrow.

Cincinnati Ohio, – The Cincinnati Bengals have made the following roster moves.

The have terminated the contract of fifth year WR Denarius Moore, releasing him to free agency. Moore sign with the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent  for 2015 after four years with the Oakland Raiders.

They also waived three veterans third year DT Kwame Geathers, third-year LB Nico Johnson and second-year DE Sam Montgomery.

They have also waived three college free agents- G Chris Jasperse of Marshall, WR Desmond Lawrence of North Carolina A&T and John Peters of Mount St. Joseph.

Today’s moves leave the Bengals with 80 players on the roster. The roster must be further reduced , to 75, by 4 pm tomorrow.

Men’s Soccer Claims Wolstein Classic Title

Columbus Ohio – The Wright State men’s soccer team claimed the Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic title  Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Cal State Fullerton in Columbus.

The Raider and Titans were scoreless at the half, but broke through first as junior Peguy Ngatcha picked up his second goal of the season from freshman Jackson Dietrich at the 48:00 minute It was Dietrich’s third assist of the season. It wasn’t long before the Raiders went up 2-0 when Jake Stovall headed in a corner kick from junior Sam DeRoy at 49:45.

Wright State returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Lexington Kentucky to battle the Kentucky Wildcats at 5 pm

Fairborn Ohio – The Wright State women’s soccer team tallied a goal in each half in posting a 2-0 decision over Belmont in it’s home opener Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.

Senior MacKenzie Hamilton opened the scoring for the Raiders at the 8:43 mark of the first half  with her first goal of the season. After a shot by sophomore Bryce Hueber knocked away by the Belmont goalkeeper, Hamilton connected on the rebound . It was Hueber’ second assist.

Wright State added an insurance goal at the 58:35 mark in the second half as sophomore Madison McKinney scored off a corner kick from Sarah Colvin. It was McKinney’s first goal of the season.

The Raiders will be staying close to home next weekend as the host the Miami Redhawks on Friday at 7:00 pm and then a trip to Baujan Field for a date with the University of Dayton Flyers also at 7:00 pm.

East Lansing, Mich. – The University of Dayton women’s soccer team (0-4-0) fell 2-1 to Michigan State at the DeMartin Soccer Complex in the Spartans home opener. Michigan State (3-0-1) remains unbeaten after four matches this season

Michigan State led 1-0 until the Flyers Ashley Campbell scored her first goal of the season in the 56th minute.

But that didn’t last long as the Spartans score the game winner just 30 seconds later.

The Flyers will start a four game home stand when they host Big Ten foe Nebraska, next Friday at 4:30.
