Bulldogs advance to the State Finals

Riley Baum pitched a 2 hit complete game shutout as the Heath Bulldogs defeats the Cincinnati Christian Cougars 4-0 in the Regional Finals at Wright State Friday night. Heat will advance to the State Semi Finals next weekend in Akron.

Heath got the scoring going in the third when the fist 3 hitters reached. Connor Corbett led off with a base hit to left. Tanner Patterson would follow with a base hit to right and Hayden Woodward would walk and the bases were loaded with no outs. Hayden Green would ground out to third and that allowed Corbett would score the first run and it was 1-0 Bulldogs

Baum would then hit a ground ball to the second basemen who came home with the throw and it was late and Heath lead 2-0 after 3.

Heat would add a couple of insurance runs and the final score 4-0 Heath.
Cincinnati Christian ends the season at 24-6.

Nick Birch had 3 hits and scored 3 runs as the Cincinnati Christian Cougars defeated the Brookville Blue Devils 4-2 in the Regional Semifinals at Wright State Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars got the scoring in the first inning when Birch singled to left and Kael Starks also singled and then on a designed play, Starks takes off for second and got caught in a rundown. Meanwhile Birch scampered home for the first score of the game.
Brookville would come back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the first..
Jace Wood led off the inning with a base hit to right and later scored on a base hit to right by Braden Chambers and it was tied up at 1-1.
In the third Birch would get his second single of the game and steal second. and would score on a base hit by Alex Minacapelli and it was 2-1 Cougars. A lead they would not lose.
Cincinnati Christian would add a couple of insurance runs in the seventh.
With 2 outs in the top of the seventh Tim Nagel singled and then went to second on a wild pitch. Birch was walked and TJ Selve would single that scored Nagel.
Then Selvie would try to steal second, again on the designed play and Birch would scored for the third time.
But Brookville would not quit.
Trailing 4-1 Braden Chambers singled to left and Kayde Baker would walk.
With 2 out Hunter Gray singled to left to score Chambers and it was 4-2.
Cincinnati Christian will move on to the Regional final tomorrow afternoon at 5 pm at Wright State vs the winner of the Heath /Cincinnati Country Day game.
